Inmarsat launches dedicated IoT service

Inmarsat has launched a new Internet of Things (IoT) service called Fleet Data, which aims to simplify the collection and transmission of data from a ship’s onboard Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) and other vessel sensors, providing a platform for data analysis and optimisation of operations.

Danelec improves ECDIS line

Danelec Marine has improved its ECDIS line with the inclusion of a universal radar overlay module that allows radar images to be superimposed on the electronic chart display, and a new conning display dashboard with the status of all navigational subsystems and sensors.

Diamond S Shipping’s fleet of 30 medium-range product tankers is nearing completion of a Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) retrofit programme, with Mackay Marine India in Mumbai installing the equipment on behalf of VDR manufacturer Danelec Marine.

Danelec Marine and NAPA are to work together in the development of a new Cloud-based Internet of Things (IoT) system for ship performance analysis and optimisation, combining Danelec’s shipboard data collection and transfer platform, developed alongside its voyage data recorder (VDR) equipment, with NAPA’s analytics software.

Indian government in VDR deal

Danelec Marine has announced a deal to supply its VDR technology to the government of India, under a contract struck by local distributor Marine Electricals.

Nautisk has announced a new partnership with SRH International to offer its leasing package for dual ECDIS and ENCs to SRH customers.

Danelec Marine has introduced the second-generation of its DanelecConnect telematics platform for remote access to onboard systems, with the first ship installations currently underway.

Danelec VDRs for 20 VARD newbuilds

Danelec Marine and its distributor Telemar Norway report that they have agreed a deal for the supply of DM100 Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs) to 20 new vessels being built by VARD.
